SEPTON™ 1020 is a SEP styrenic thermoplastic elastomer of Kuraray’s 1000 series, a di-block copolymer with 36% styrene content. It features excellent transparency and flowability, rubber-like elasticity over a wide temperature range, plastic-like processability upon heating, and offers good heat, weather, chemical resistance and high electrical insulation, ideal for adhesives, sealants, automotive parts and polymer modification.

Compatible with polyolefins, process oil, tackifying resins, etc., to make soft materials replacing vulcanized rubber/PVC or heat-resistant adhesives.
Acts as unsaturated polyester modifier and impact modifier, and works as a compatibilizer for polar/non-polar resin blending.
Adhesives and sealants: formulated into clear, weather-resistant adhesives and sealants with good adhesion and flexibility.
Automotive components: used for gaskets, soft-touch parts, wire & cable insulation due to elasticity and insulation.
Polymer modification: serves as impact modifier for unsaturated polyester, improving toughness and processability.
Lubricant additives: acts as viscosity index improver to enhance lubricant performance under varying temperatures.
Daily necessities: applied in soft-touch grips, toys, sporting goods and non-woven fabric bonding for softness and durability.
